A group of incoming freshmen students attended WHSAD’s first summer bridge program, which ran from July 1st to August 3rd, 2015. The program was divided into two areas of focus; design/architecture and literacy skills workshops.
The students enjoyed activities such as, translating physical objects into isometric views on paper, building physical concept models that incorporates measurements and scale, and an introduction to computer-generated drafting using AutoCAD 3D. Students also went on a sketching/walking tour in the Williamsburg area, where they sketched famous architectural buildings such as the historic Williamsburgh Savings Bank building, and saw New York City from the site of the old Domino’s Sugar Factory.
