WHSAD Students Showcase Their Talents at the Fifth Annual Night of Arts at Park Avenue Armory
On Monday, May 19th, the Park Avenue Armory opened its doors to the public to showcase the talent of the students of Williamsburg High School for Architecture and Design. The freshman class showcased their architectural drafts and AutoCAD designs. The sophomore class showcased their ability to design floor plans and models on AutoCAD. Sophomores in Ms. Pickering's English class also displayed their lyrical talents as they read their original poems out loud. The seniors in Mr. Codio's architecture classes displayed their Advanced AutoCAD designs as they were printed in three dimensions. Starbucks Service Day at WHSAD
On Saturday, April 26th, WHSAD students collaborated with volunteers from the not-for-profit organization City Year to supervise nearly 500 Starbucks volunteers to paint the Harry Van Arsdale Campus. These students have worked together during the past month designing art work using techniques they have learned in their architecture classes, prepping and priming the walls, and selecting the color scheme to help make their school look like a better place. While the work isn't done (these students will still be continuing what they have started by completing final touch-ups), these youngsters have accomplished a lot.
