New Blended Learning Opt-in Window for Families (March 24 – April 7)
Attached is an update from Chancellor Porter regarding the DOE opening a new blended learning opt-in window for families. Beginning today until Wednesday, April 7th, families can visit the Learning Preference Survey at https://www.nycenet.edu/surveys/learningpreference to select blended learning for their child. Since high schools reopened Monday, high school students who opt in to blended learning during this window will open at a later date, to be announced by the Chancellor and the Mayor at a future time.Please note that if you select blended learning for your child, you must submit the consent form for random COVID-19 testing by the first day your child begins in-person learning. March Parent Teacher Conferences
Parent-Teacher conferences will be held virtually this year on Thursday, March 18th, from 5:00 PM - 7:30 PM and Friday, March 19th, from 12:00 NOON - 2:30 PM. In order to make sure you will have exclusive time to speak with your child's teachers, we have set up a system called Calendly that allows you to set up 10-minute Google Meet appointments with your child's teachers. Return of In-person Blended Learning at WHSAD
Dear Parents and Guardian of Blended Learning Students at WHSAD, Earlier this morning, Chancellor Meisha Porter Ross announced that NYCDOE High Schools will reopen for in-person learning starting Monday, March 22. We are currently in the process of working on the in-person learning calendar for your child. We will send a link to that calendar, which will show the days your child may report to school during March and April, by tomorrow. Please keep a lookout for an e-mail regarding that calendar.
