WHSAD’s Groundswell Mural Interns
In collaboration with The Greenpoint Chamber of Commerce and the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, Groundswell youth artists, which include 6 interns from WHSAD, will celebrate Greenpoint’s history of environmental justice activism and highlight the importance of watershed stewardship. The mural, to be installed at MS 126 Magnet School for Environmental Engineering, will motivate participants and the community to learn more about local watershed conservation and infrastructure, and further explore careers in related environmental sectors. Clean Greenpoint and Tree Care Event
The final phase of Operation Teach.Learn.Grow kicked off on Saturday, June 14th when WHSAD students were joined by Council member Steven Levin to assemble and garden the remaining 15 Walentas Family Foundation tree guards. On their last weekend as WHSAD Seniors 15 upper class-men began the effort early in the morning, but as the day progressed and Regents prep ended the number of students working on the community service project reached to about 40 students. The tree guards are located along North 7th Street between Roebling and Havemeyer Street, in front of Brooklyn Bowl and Charlotte Patisserie on Manhattan Avenue. Now that you've created a product and pitched it to investors you know that making a business successful isn't easy. Today you are going to run another business - a Lemonade Stand! You have 40 minutes to see how much money you can make. Each round lasts for 5 days. Keep track of how much money you make in 30 days.
