Dear Parents and Seniors: ‘Senior Dues’ for the Class of 2022 will be $120.00 per Senior. Only cash and money orders are accepted, no personal checks. Below is a list of what the Senior Dues cover along with notable dates for graduation and prom. The deadline for payment is Friday December 17, 2021. Due to the difficulties families continues to face because of the pandemic the school will be covering the additional cost of the graduation venue, cap, gown and the diplomas cases this year. CUNY Application Week
WHSAD will host its annual CUNY Application Week from October 25-29. All Seniors are strongly encouraged to apply to CUNY. Application materials such as the CUNY freshman profile, viewpoint, application checklist are posted in the Class of 2022 google classroom as well as in your orange folders. Students may apply to up to six schools in one application. Fee waivers will be available for qualifying students. In light of the COVID-19 crisis, SAT and ACT test scores are not required nor considered in application review through the Spring 2023 admission cycle. Click here for more information. Freshmen Transcript Workshop
WHSAD will host its annual transcript review for all freshmen and their families on March 10th at 5:30pm - via google meet. The transcript is the official record of your child's high school credits, grades and exams taken. During the workshop we will discuss how to read the document and whether your child is currently on track or not. We will also discuss the NX grades and timeline to make up course credit. Class of 2022 Family Workshops
WHSAD will be hosting a series of monthly workshops for our Juniors and their families to help navigate the post-secondary process. We will discuss the pathway to graduation, finding the right college and career programs, college affordability and financial aid, and the application process. National Decision Day
Attention Seniors, May 1st is National Decision Day which means the pressure is on for high school seniors to make final college decisions. WHSAD will be hosting a celebratory party during 3rd & 4th period for students who have committed to the college of their choice. Will you be a Junior or Senior at WHSAD this fall? Do you want to start earning college credits? Do you have an 80+ Average and a score of 75+ on the ELA regents*? If you answered yes to all of these questions, then you can start taking College Now classes this fall at City Tech (in Downtown Brooklyn). Excelsior Scholarship is Now Opened
Excelsior Scholarship application for the 2018-19 is now available. Students will need there TAP user name, password and Pin Number. Click here if you still have not applied for TAP. (NY State Tuition Assistance Program) The Excelsior Scholarship, in combination with other student financial aid programs, allows students to attend a SUNY or CUNY college tuition-free.
