TEMA (Teen Empowerment Mural Apprenticeship) is a paid after-school pre-professional public art apprenticeship program for teens (14 to 21-years-old) interested in using visual arts for the benefit of local communities. TEMA apprentices create public works of art collaboratively with Groundswell professional artists on projects commissioned by community partners. Apprentices will collectively research, design and fabricate a work of public art. NY Times College Scholarship
The Scholarship Program is open to high school seniors in public, private or parochial schools in the five boroughs who have demonstrated academic achievement and community service while facing significant obstacles. This year, we intend to support 10 students with scholarships of up to $15,000 a year. Students must enroll in a full-time course of study at an accredited college or university in the United States. Each scholarship will be renewable, as long as the student maintains a good academic record. We encourage students who best meet the application criteria to apply.
