Topic 2 (Parallel Lines and Transversals)
Today we introduced a topic that many students have seen before but might not remember too clearly. When parallel lines are cut by a transversal they form a figure like the one shown below: We examined the relationship between alternate interior angles(4 and 6, 3 and 5), alternate exterior angles (1 and 7, 2 and 8), and corresponding angles(1 and 5, 2 and 6, 4 and 8, 3 and 7) and found out that: If two parallel lines are cut by a transversal then alternate interior angles are congruent.
