Sexual Reproduction- Two parents. Each parent contributes a gamete, or sex cell. The offspring receives one half of their DNA from the fathers sperm, and one half of the DNA from the mothers egg. The processes of meiosis and fertilization in sexual reproduction give variety, or variation in the offspring. Meiosis is cell division that creates sex cells with a unique half of DNA.
