Below, Jessica shares her thoughts on being the spotlighted Sophomore for May and what makes WHSAD a special place.
My main goal in WHSAD is to learn whatever teachers teach me. This is an important achievement for me because I want to succeed, and I believe that by showing up on time to school and working hard every day that end goal is becoming possible. Every day I work towards completing my work. Though it may be stressful, I think about my future to keep me motivated. The community is what I believe makes WHSAD such a unique and special learning environment. WHSAD gives you so many after-school programs, which help to strengthen your knowledge. I believe I was personally chosen because of the work I do. When I’m given a task, I try to complete it and follow directions. Math is my favorite class because I enjoy the challenge that the class offers. After graduation, I aspire to work with kids. I’m currently not interested in any specific colleges but am interested in attending one. Through extracurriculars that WHSAD offers such as teen entrepreneurship club I can strengthen my business skills and prepare myself for after college. The many diverse and interesting programs in WHSAD is what makes the school so special. It’s easy to get support from teachers because they are very supportive and they understand our problems. WHSAD offers such a unique experience unlike any other high school. Through teachers, students can really grow as people and prepare themselves for the future ahead of them. WHSAD has given me a lot of work experience which I can apply heavily in my future. That is why I couldn’t more grateful for WHSAD.
