Create Your Own Government
Introduction
Imagine you were chosen to rule a new developing nation. The nation has just ended a war and there has been no ruler until you came along. What type of nation will you choose to have? What type of ruler will you be?
Keep in mind the future of this nation is in your hands…
Task
Now that your research paper has been completed you will create your own government. From the types of government you have just researched, come up with a plan for your country to function. You need to create a document explaining how your country is governed – do the people have rights? If so what are they? Is power divided? How? What are your citizens entitled to or not entitled to? Also you need to have a list of laws and rules that your citizens must obey. Also don’t forget that you must name the country too. Your country needs to have a form of currency and a flag that you will fly.
Process
You are going to create a PowerPoint Presentation with your project information. You need to include the following in your presentation:
– Name of your country
– Flag
– Currency
– A governing document – do the people have rights? If so what are they? Is power divided? How? What are your citizens entitled to or not entitled to?
– A list of laws your citizens must obey
– In addition, you must include a map with the location of your country in the world (what content, region of the world)
*Your PowerPoint should have at least 7 – 8 slides.
*Be creative – you have a good deal of artistic flexibility for this project
*Be appropriate – if you are not sure what this means see me and I will explain
