Freshmen, please remember to prepare for quizzes tomorrow in both Ms. Taylor’s Living Environment and Ms. Jufer’s Algebra class. To ace the Living Environment quiz you’l need to study the information that we’ve been covering under the topic of “Chemistry of Life.“ This includes (but is not limited to): elements, atoms, subatomic particles, atomic charges and the two types of atomic bonding. HINT: Bring your worksheet from Wednesday’s class to class tomorrow in case it is an open-note test. You can prepare for Ms. Jufer’s Algebra quiz by reviewing the Order of Operations, (or PEMDAS), memorizing the words that we use for the functions of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division; and the ‘turn around’ and ‘parenthesis’ words. Also be sure to review our lesson today on how the division line can become a grouping tool. Last, study your notes closely on the calculator functions. Practice writing out the steps of simplifying an expression when using a calculator AND writing out the steps in words. You’ll be set! GOOD LUCK.
