In Government class we are going over reasons why the Declaration of Independence was written. The colonists wanted to explain and justify this separation to the world. They explained their belief that all people have equal inalienable rights. They felt the purpose of the government was to “secure” or protect these rights. When government does not do this, they felt they had the right to change their government. Tomorrow we will review the list of ways that the colonists’ rights were taken away. Please review your class handout and come prepared to hear about, read and question how the Declaration of Independence was written.
In ELA class, we continue reading Fahrenheit 451. Montag is very nervous about the Mechanical Hound. Are his fears justified? Tomorrow we will see the return of Clarisse. How will she further influence Montag? Stay tuned….
