In order to build our lamp we need to create a set of working drawings.
The drawings will be orthographic projections. Orthographic projections are a collection of 2-d drawings that together give an accurate overall representation of a 3-d object. You will have to create up to 6 views: top view, 2 side views, front view, rear view, and bottom view. The drawings will be created in 0.5″=1″ scale.
AIM: How to determine what the front (most descriptive) view of your object is?
Aim: What do you need to consider when arranging your views on your piece of paper?
Aim: How to identify the necessary views to accurately represent your 3-d object with 2-d projection?
Aim: How to decide which dimensions you need to place on your orthographic projections?
