WELCOME BACK! SECOND SEMESTER- HOW TIME FLIES.
Hello Freshman,
Welcome to the second exciting semester of your ninth grade journey to wherever it leads. However, as we journey along, I want you to take along this quote by Alex Noble.
“Success is not a place at which one arrives, but rather the spirit with which one undertakes and continues the journey.” Alex Noble.
This means a couple of things. First, it means that although the end results (grades) are important, the journey that we take along the way as we curiously and cautiously investigate the world around us, stretch our thinking, grow in character, and become a true community of learners is just as important as that end goal of grades. What this also means is that as you, your parents and your teachers work together for you to have a successful expedition through ninth grade we need to do it in the spirit of:
- Giving 100% in all that we do
- Being responsible and disciplined
- Planning, setting and meeting goals and deadlines.
- Being eager to learn and willing to stretch our minds and our imagination.
- Making positive choices, inculcating good work habits.
- Enjoying ourselves while we work together – Work made fun gets work done!
Ninth grade is an important time in your social and academic growth as you take on more responsibilities and make new friends. We will take steps together working towards your success as you explore high school and prepare for your future. As you travel this ninth grade road, you will be challenged to grow in many ways and, if you are willing to work hard, you will love the direction this journey will take you in.
I am looking forward to continuing our journey this semester, working with you, your parents/guardians as we partner together to make your ninth grade year a success. I hope you are as excited as I am to continue this exciting voyage.
Ms. Newton.
