On Saturday, March 8th, 2014, students from Williamsburg High School for Architecture and Design participated in the SkillsUSA Area 5 Competition at Thomas Edison High School. SkillsUSA participating schools from all five boroughs in New York City were represented in this competition. Ramon Williams placed 1st in Architectural Drafting, and Luis Barrera received 3rd place in the same category. Additionally, for the second consecutive year, Lorena Arias placed first in the Job Interview category. Here are the other students from WHSAD that took home medals from Saturday’s competition:

SkillsUSA was founded by Ms. Evelyn Diaz, Architecture teacher at WHSAD, who continues to be the the head advisor of the program. Mr. Alain Codio, senior Architecture teacher at WHSAD, is Ms. Diaz’s co-advisor.
