My first week went pretty well. I’m currently working on a restaurant design where I mostly work on interior designs, slides, and the presentation of the work. Working on a restaurant design project has been both exciting and exhausting since it’s a lot of work with lots of responsibilities. Most challenging was doing the research, which has taught me a lot about designing a functional and appealing restaurant space. From understanding the target audience to finding the flow of both customers and staff, each small detail that might seem irrelevant plays a big role for the project’s success.
One of my personal goals is to work more on my communication skills, especially in large groups. Communication is key to everyone being on the same page and the project progresses smoothly. I am going to be more responsible and contribute to the project’s success by being proactive and finishing all of my tasks on time. I am satisfied with my performance this week and feel that I have met all the expectations so I’d say 5/5.
The question I have is about location. I believe it is important to clarify the exact location of the restaurant. Knowing the specific place will help us with the research and finding common interest in that area. I would also like to know if we need to also create a menu and the clothing for the staff members since it’s very important to have everything done including the smallest details. Overall I’m very excited to see the finished product.

Being a part of CRÈME architecture has been an amazing and valuable learning experience. During my first week I was introduced to the project that I would be working on alongside the members of my team. The project is based on designing a restaurant, which is something that I hadn’t ever done before.
The process of creating plans for the restaurant was much easier and simpler compared to the later stages of the project. Brainstorming and creating the theme which our restaurant would be centered around was the shortest and easiest part of the project. The theme for our restaurant ended up revolving around the idea of an enchanted forest. After this process we developed our slides where we would leave and present all of our ideas for the restaurant. This process was mainly done by certain people including myself, while others focused on different aspects of the planning like floor layouts which we would all eventually work on. By working on them separately we would have an opportunity to share our ideas to each other allowing us to build on them, making the planning easier and less time consuming.
The most difficult part of this was the fact that there had been a different team before the start of SYEP working on the same project. This had made things a little confusing and difficult but we easily managed to catch up with the other team. Overall my first week in SYEP was mainly centered around brainstorming and creating plans for the restaurant which we would be creating.

During my first week at SYEP, I got a taste of real work experience and learned new skills that were challenging for me. Our team project involves choosing a location and designing a restaurant using AutoCAD for layout and floor plans. Our goal is to create a unique restaurant that satisfies customers.
Designing the restaurant and its layout is tough work that requires dedication from our team. Drawing and design were especially challenging for me since I’m not very experienced in these areas. I hope to improve my AutoCAD skills, get better at drawing, and learn how to read and create layouts and floor plans.
I’d rate my productivity this week a 4 out of 5. I stayed consistent in my work, helped my classmates, and brought new ideas to the table. Moving forward, I want to work on my communication skills with my teammates to avoid misunderstandings that can affect our project.
Looking ahead, I’m eager to learn from clients and mentors about the patience and determination required for design work, and to understand the essential skills needed to effectively design restaurants. Overall, my first week at SYEP has been a great experience. I’m excited to continue learning and growing in this role, gaining valuable insights into the professional world and contributing to our team’s success in creating a restaurant that not only meets but exceeds customer expectations.

Being a part of CRÈME architecture has been a no valuable learning experience. During my first week, I was introduced to the project that I would be working on with my team members. The project involves designing a restaurant, which was a new experience for me. Personally, I feel like the easiest and funniest part was actually brainstorming all the ideas and I feel like it’s also going to be cool later on when we see the finished product of what we worked on. My group decided to do an oceanic and fire theme restaurant, which I think is a very cool concept, considering that it doesn’t exist yet.
After brainstorming, we created slides to present our restaurant ideas and in our slides, we made sure to include mood boards and different textures that we’re planning on adding in the restaurant. I was mainly working in the layout parts but because we all did our own layout, we decided to all contribute together and put a little bit of everyone’s work in one. Doing this helped us build on each other’s ideas and also in the real life world teaching us how to work together.
The most confusing part I feel like it was the measurements and also figuring out how to catch up with the group because before SYEP started, the project was already thought about and halfway done, but I was eventually able to catch onto it. This experience has significantly enhanced my architectural skills and taught me the value of teamwork and collaboration. Working with my team has not only made the process more efficient but also helped my understanding of architectural design and project management. This growth has been incredibly rewarding, and I feel more confident in my abilities to contribute to future projects.
